Description
BRAVIA Projector 7 (VPL-XW5100ES) sits above the VPL-XW5000ES as the step-up model in Sony's current native 4K SXRD laser projector range, using the same 0.61-inch SXRD panel but raising brightness to 2,200 lumens and swapping in Sony's latest XR Processor for projector. The XR chip adds XR Dynamic Tone Mapping and XR Deep Black for scene-by-scene laser dimming, plus XR Triluminos Pro colour (over 95% DCI-P3) and XR Clear Image upscaling. A step-up Aspect Ratio Scaling function over the XW5000ES lets CinemaScope-screen owners switch digitally between 2.35:1 and 16:9 without touching the lens. Gaming is well specified with HDMI 2.1 4K/120 and Auto Low Latency Mode support, and the projector integrates with Control4, Crestron, Savant, AMX, OvrC and Domotz for custom-install environments. Optics are manual focus/zoom (approx. x1.6, throw ratio 1.38:1-2.21:1) with a wide manual lens shift range (+/-71% vertical, +/-25% horizontal). The mercury-free laser light source is rated for up to 20,000 hours of use without lamp replacement.
