Description

The Optoma UHZ68LV brings the next generation of home cinema with dual laser technology and PureEngine Ultra picture processing. Powered by Dolby Vision and HDR10+, it optimises each frame individually for a more dynamic, immersive viewing experience, with 5,000 ISO lumens of brightness for cinematic entertainment even in well-lit rooms. Dual laser technology delivers true-to-life colour accuracy (95% DCI-P3) and sharper resolution, with up to 30,000 hours of uninterrupted viewing. PureMotion frame-interpolation processing eliminates motion blur, and Dolby Atmos passthrough sends immersive, multi-dimensional sound to an external soundbar or AV receiver. Flexible installation is supported by a 1.6x zoom, vertical and horizontal lens shift, and geometric correction, while HDMI 2.1 and dual HDMI 2.0 (eARC) inputs, RJ45 and RS232 control cover a full home cinema install. This listing is the black chassis colourway.

Frequently asked questions

How bright is the Optoma UHZ68LV and what size room does it suit?

The UHZ68LV outputs 5,000 ISO lumens from its dual laser light engine, making it bright enough for cinema-style viewing even in rooms with some ambient light, not just blacked-out home cinemas. It covers screen sizes from 30.6" to 301.1" diagonal, so it scales from a modest den to a large dedicated cinema room.

How far from the screen does the UHZ68LV need to be positioned?

With its 1.2:1-1.92:1 throw ratio, for a 100-inch 16:9 screen the projector sits roughly 2.65m to 4.24m back, and the 1.6x zoom plus vertical/horizontal lens shift give flexibility to fine-tune the position within that range. Overall projection distance is rated from 1m to 10m.

How long does the laser light source last?

The dual laser light engine is rated for up to 30,000 hours of use, which at several hours a day of typical home viewing translates to many years before any noticeable dimming, and there's no lamp to replace.

What picture quality and HDR support does it offer?

The UHZ68LV supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, optimising each frame individually for contrast and colour, and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 colour space with 100% Rec.709 for accurate colour reproduction. Its contrast ratio is rated at 3,200,000:1.

What connectivity and audio options does it have?

It has 1x HDMI 2.1 and 2x HDMI 2.0 (eARC) inputs, plus RJ45 and RS232 control ports for integration into a home cinema install, and Dolby Atmos passthrough lets it send multi-dimensional sound to an external soundbar or AV receiver.

What warranty and delivery apply?

The UHZ68LV comes with a 3-year (36-month) warranty. It's in stock at TopAV, so orders dispatch within 2 working days, and delivery is free on orders over £100 (£9.95 below that).
